Thanks for reading: Support Women’s Sports is a fan-written and centered newsletter. It is the next step of a project I started in 2010 to elevate women’s sports stories and athletes. I am a full-time feminist creator and your support of this newsletter, both as a subscriber and member, helps me devote more space in my day for more content. Support this work by forwarding this newsletter to a few friends.

Day One

What an amazing start to WNBA All-Star Weekend!
Off the Court: Sydni Michelle is a former Senior Manager of Growth & Digital Marketing Unrivaled basketball and for her debut activation she called in big names to ensure the event was as impactful as possible. Here are some key lessons shared by the panel.
Lisa Leslie: The Gen X mama pushed back on the idea of work-life balance cause we know that’s bullshit. You focus on what you are doing at the moment and know these are days when you are mostly working and days when you are more focused on yourself, family, and friends.
More life lessons: Take time to think. Be consistent. Working 24/7 will kill your creativity. And from Golden, the first step in any personal style is confidence. As classic as a white button down.
New friends: I made a bunch of new connections. A Sacramento radio host. Murphy, aka that guy who explains WNBA gossip & activity to a baby. Hit the mixer at Nobody’s Darling, welcoming folks to one of my fave spots in the city.
Today’s agenda: Vox Media podcasts - Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe in that awkward, we broke up, but still work at the same place, way that Sapphics know too well. Eyes on your phones, ladies. Then off to the 3-point contest!
BANDITS WIN!!!!

The hottest team in Chicago are the Chicago Bandits.
They weathered a rainstorm to beat the Portland Cascade to make it back to the AUSL championship. The game went into extra innings multiple times - 11 innings. I don’t have ESPN so I had to finish watching the game by watching the dots move around the graphic diamond.
Game 1 versus the Utah Talons is at 12 p.m. CT on ABC.
LET’S GOOOOOOO!
What’s next: Will need to wear my Bandits cap with my Support Women’s Sports tee at the All-Star game.
While this newsletter and the larger project of supporting women’s sports is my passion project, I still need to buy groceries and buy nachos at games.
An additional way to support this newsletter is to subscribe, share on socials, and forward to your friend who keeps inviting you to women’s sporting events.
