
Who to root for: Here is a handy list of Chicago’s professional teams.
Chicago Sky Basketball. 2021 WNBA Champions. A member of the WNBA since 2006. They have played at the UIC Pavillion, All-State Arena, and now at the Wintrust Arena.
Chicago (Red) Stars: Soccer aka Football. They dropped the Red from their name a few years ago, but many of us won’t forget. Lore. We will explore lore here.
Chicago Bandits: Softball is BACK in 2026! The Bandits are now a member of the Athletes Unlimited Softball League, but they were originally part of the National Pro Fastpitch league that was a victim of the COVID-19 pandemic. 2018 NPF champions.
Chicago Tempest: Rugby. The league and the team were launched in 2025 in the wake of the 2024 Olympics. They were playing in Evanston, but are now out at Benedictine University Stadium, where the Red Stars and the Bandits have also played.
Chicago Winds: Tackle football. A member of the National Women’s Football Conference. Get to know them at Rebellious.
